The special research centre ‘Including people with a mild intellectual disability’ was founded in June 2014 with Dr Xavier Moonen as associate professor. This special research centre focuses on the role of the professional in relation to the inclusion of people with an intellectual disability.
The special research centre was set up by Koraal Groep, an organization based in the Dutch city of Sittard that provides care and support to people with an intellectual, physical, or psychosocial disability or condition. In terms of its organization and content, this special research centre is part of the research centre for arts therapies (KenVaK).
